Code generation with retries
A developer sends a 20,000-token prompt for Python code and receives a 1,500-token response. If the model hits a rate limit and retries once with a 10,000-token prompt, the total input is 30,000 tokens. Cost: (30,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.25) + (1,500 / 1,000,000 * $1.00) = $0.0075 + $0.0015 = $0.009.
Long-context document analysis
Processing a 40,000-token document with a 5,000-token summary output. Cost: (40,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.25) + (5,000 / 1,000,000 * $1.00) = $0.010 + $0.005 = $0.015.
Streaming chat with short turns
A user sends a 500-token message and receives a 300-token reply. Cost: (500 / 1,000,000 * $0.25) + (300 / 1,000,000 * $1.00) = $0.000125 + $0.0003 = $0.000425.
Per-Token Rates
Our mistral api alternative charges strictly for text processed. Input tokens cost $0.25 per 1M tokens, while output tokens are $1.00 per 1M tokens. This reflects the higher compute cost of generation. Errors, rate limits, and refusals (except minor content blocks) incur zero cost. You pay only for successful token consumption.
Free Errors & Refusals
When the API returns an error or refuses a request due to internal issues, you are not charged. Even if a refusal occurs for lawful adult content, the tokens are free. This ensures your prepaid balance is only reduced by actual, useful work done by the model. Refusals for sexual content involving minors are also free, as are technical rejections.

No. Errors, rate limits, and internal refusals are free. You only pay for tokens that are successfully generated or processed as input.
How does the crypto bonus work?
When you deposit $50 or more, you receive a 5% bonus. Deposits of $100 or more receive a 10% bonus. The bonus is added to your prepaid balance.
Does my prepaid credit expire?
No. Your credit never expires. You can top up once and use it whenever you need, with no monthly subscription fees.
